BIOGRAPHY

Melissa McCormick is a doctoral candidate currently completing her dissertation research at 91tvӰԺ. She graduated with an MA in Communication program from Auburn University (War Eagle!) in 2021 before moving back to Tampa to be closer to her family (who live in Lakeland, FL). She completed her mixed-methodological master’s thesis on graduate student comparison and competition and has continued her research on graduate student experiences throughout pursuing her PhD. Her main area of research is the overlap of organizational and interpersonal communication, specifically for first-generation students. She also serves as the Assistant Director of the Public Speaking program at 91tvӰԺ.
