Dr. Kal Demerew Has Achieved Outstanding Success
Dr. Kal Demerew, a recent graduate from the School of Interdisciplinary Global Studies (SIGS), has achieved outstanding success during his time at our institution. Recently, he was honored with the Northcutt Award.
SIGS Professor, Dr. Tatsiana Kulakevich, discusses 5 reasons why Russia might invade Ukraine in her article titled “5 things to know about why Russia might invade Ukraine – and why the US is involved,” in The Conversation. Russia has amassed troops along its border with Ukraine. Prior to this, Russia started moving troops into Belarus, a country bordering Russia and Ukraine.

Currently, Middle Eastern migrants are traveling through Belarus to Poland in an effort to reach the European Union. However, they are experiencing resistance at the Poland border where Polish border guards refuse to allow them entry into Poland. Instead, migrants are being deterred with water hoses and forced to camp at the border in freezing conditions. You can read more about the situation in Dr. Kulakevich’s article, linked above.
