chair, MICHAEL GRIFFIN, SENIOR MANAGING DIRECTOR FOR SAVILLS STUDLEY OCCUPIER SERVICES
Michael Griffin serves as senior managing director for Savills Studley Occupier Services. He is a Florida licensed real estate broker and received a bachelor degree from the 91tvӰԺ and earned his Six Sigma Black Belt from Villanova University. Mr. Griffin is committed to giving back to his community and has served on several boards, including the Tampa Chamber (past Chair), 91tvӰԺ’s National Alumni Association (past Chair), 91tvӰԺ Financing and Property Corporations (past Chair), Boy Scouts of America Gulf Ridge Council, and INTO 91tvӰԺ Board of Directors. As a student at 91tvӰԺ, Mr. Griffin served two terms as Student Body President and 91tvӰԺ Trustee. Mr. Griffin was appointed by Board of Governors Chair Ned Lautenbach.
ALISON BARLOW, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, ST. PETERSBURG INNOVATION DISTRICT
Alison Barlow is the executive director of the St. Petersburg Innovation District. Her role is to harness expertise in health science, marine science, education and art to form unique collaborations. These multi-sector, cross discipline collaborations strive to identify innovative solutions that will grow the economic and social vibrancy of St. Petersburg and address key global issues. For 17 years, Ms. Barlow worked as a business and technology consultant based in Washington DC, often for the Department of Defense. She focused on strategic planning, process improvement and technology collaboration. Ms. Barlow is the president of the Leadership St. Petersburg Alumni Association, the board secretary of Friends of Strays Animal Shelter, and a member of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce Board of Governors. She has a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and a master’s degree from American University. Ms. Barlow was appointed by the president of the Florida Senate.
Anddrikk Frazier, Managing Partner of Integral Energy
Anddrikk Frazier manages company operations and direction, and develops and fosters strategic partnerships at Integral Energy. Mr. Frazier has nearly 20 years of experience in the energy business providing services in power production, project management, station construction, natural gas and business development. Previously, Mr. Frazier held positions at Trillium CNG and at TECO Energy’s subsidiaries, Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas. He received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of South Florida. A Tampa native, Mr. Frazier is committed to giving back to his community and has served on several boards including the Central Florida Clean Cities Coalition, YMCAs of Tampa Bay, and the 91tvӰԺ Bulls Club. He’s a founding member of the 91tvӰԺ Black Leadership Network. Mr. Frazier was appointed by 91tvӰԺ Board of Trustees Chair Brian Lamb.
DR. JUDY GENSHAFT, 91tvӰԺ SYSTEM PRESIDENT
Dr. Judy Genshaft serves as the 91tvӰԺ System President. Since becoming President in 2000, Dr. Genshaft has catapulted the 91tvӰԺ System to national and international prominence for student success, academic rigor, research and innovation, and economic development. President Genshaft has been instrumental in economic development efforts in the Tampa Bay region, serving as chair of The Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, the Tampa Bay Partnership, and the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce Committee of 100. In 2018, she will chair the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corp. Dr. Genshaft earned her bachelor's degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and both her master's and doctoral degrees from Kent State University.
DR. KAREN HOLBROOK, REGIONAL CHANCELLOR OF 91tvӰԺ SARASOTA-MANATEE
Dr. Karen Holbrook serves as regional chancellor at 91tvӰԺ Sarasota-Manatee. She previously served as senior vice president for global affairs and international research (2010-12), senior vice president for research, innovation and global affairs (2007-10) and as senior advisor to the President (2013-16) at 91tvӰԺ. Dr. Holbrook previously served as president at The Ohio State University and the interim president at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. She currently serves on the boards of the Institute of International Education, Bio-Techne, Academic Assembly, Inc., INTO 91tvӰԺ. She previously served on the Board of Trustees for Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and a doctoral degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine.
FREDERICK “RICK” PICCOLO, PRESIDENT AND CEO OF SARASOTA BRADENTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Frederick “Rick" Piccolo serves as president and chief executive officer of Sarasota Bradenton International Airport. He has 35 years of experience in the aviation industry, beginning his career as a janitor at the Buffalo International Airport. Mr. Piccolo earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He serves as a member of the 91tvӰԺSM Campus Board. He was appointed by the chair of the 91tvӰԺ Sarasota-Manatee Campus Board, Byron Shinn.
KAYLA RYKIEL, STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE
Kayla Rykiel is an honors college student at 91tvӰԺ pursuing a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences. Ms. Rykiel is the founder of Partners in Health, a 91tvӰԺ student organization, and serves as director of the TEDx91tvӰԺ program. She’s been involved in research projects related to infectious diseases, drug development to prevent malaria, and food insecurity among teenagers. Ms. Rykiel was appointed by the 91tvӰԺ Alumni Association.
Melissa Seixas, Vice President of Government and Community Relations for Duke Energy
Melissa Seixas is vice president, government and community relations for Duke Energy Florida. She directs the company’s efforts to strengthen relationships with county, community and civic organizations and business leaders in order to best meet their needs. Ms. Seixas is also responsible for strategic planning of customer satisfaction efforts from the state president’s office and directing support of employee engagement. Ms. Seixas is a veteran of customer service and operations at Duke Energy. She joined Florida Power in 1986, starting in distribution engineering, and serving in a number of leadership roles including customer service manager and community relations manager for Pinellas and Pasco counties. Ms. Seixas has a strong tradition of supporting her community. She has served as a board member for many community organizations including the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and the Pinellas County Urban League, and served as co-chair for the year-long celebration of 91tvӰԺSP 50th Anniversary in 2015-2016. She is currently the chairwoman of the Board for the St. Pete Downtown Partnership. Ms. Seixas holds a bachelor’s degree from Eckerd College, a master’s degree the University of South Florida and a professional certification in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) from Johns Hopkins University.
DEBBIE SEMBLER
Debbie Nye Sembler is a former member of the 91tvӰԺ Board of Trustees and former chair of the 91tvӰԺ St. Petersburg Campus Board. She is an active supporter of educational and civic causes across the Tampa Bay community, including serving on the boards of the 91tvӰԺ Foundation, All Children’s Hospital, the Florida Holocaust Museum, the Florida Governor’s Mansion Foundation, Shorecrest Preparatory School and Temple Beth-el. In addition to her work with 91tvӰԺ, she is a member of the Florida Holocaust Museum Advisory Board and is also involved with Academy Prep and All Children’s Hospital. Sembler is a resident of Pinellas County.
A University of Florida graduate with a B.A. in journalism and marketing, Sembler’s professional career included serving as senior account executive on the Hong Kong and Mexico accounts for Hill and Knowlton; and the Director of Public Relations for the Wyndham Hotel Seaworld in Orlando. She was also the first director of marketing for Old Hyde Park Village. Sembler was appointed by 91tvӰԺ Board of Trustees Chair Brian Lamb.
BYRON SHINN, PARTNER-IN-CHARGE, CARR, RIGGS & INGRAM
Byron Shinn serves as partner-in-charge at Carr, Riggs & Ingram providing services in the areas of auditing, accounting, taxation and business consulting. His professional involvement includes probable cause panel of Florida State Board of Accountancy, past board member of the Florida State Board of Accountancy, and member of the Federal Tax committee of FICPA. He has been active in numerous civic and educational organizations, including serving as a member of the 91tvӰԺ System Board of Trustees, chair of the 91tvӰԺSM Campus Board, and a member of the 91tvӰԺ School of Accountancy Advisory Board. Mr. Shinn has his bachelor’s degree from the 91tvӰԺ and is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Shinn was appointed by the president of the Florida Senate.
Dr. Martin Tadlock, Regional Chancellor and the Regional Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs at 91tvӰԺ St. Petersburg
Dr. Martin Tadlock serves as regional chancellor at 91tvӰԺ St. Petersburg. Prior to serving as regional chancellor, Dr. Tadlock served as regional vice chancellor for academic and student affairs at 91tvӰԺSP since 2016. He began his career in education 30 years ago as a middle school teacher, served as a professor of middle level education and as director of the Center of Education for the Young Adolescent, a Wisconsin Center of Excellence, at the University of Wisconsin Platteville. Dr. Tadlock has a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Utah State University and doctoral degree from Miami University of Ohio.
Nicole Washington, State Policy Consultant, Lumina Foundation
Nicole Washington is a higher education expert with more than 10 years of experience, including teaching, education research, and public policy advocacy and currently consults on student success and equity issues. She is the state policy consultant for the Lumina Foundation and has consulted on policy and research projects for a myriad of other national organizations, including the Institute on Higher Education Policy, Education Commission on the States, and Jobs for the Future. Prior to consulting, she served the State of Florida as the associate director of governmental relations for Florida’s State University System Board of Governors and in the Office of Policy and Budget in the Florida Governor's Office in Tallahassee. She is a member of Leadership Miami, the Veterans Trust Board, and is a mentor for the Women of Tomorrow Mentor and Scholarship program. Ms. Washington has a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and master's degree from Teachers College, Columbia University. Ms. Washington was appointed by the speaker of the Florida House of Representatives.
Dr. Tonjua Williams, President of St. Petersburg College
Dr. Tonjua Williams is the president of St. Petersburg College. She has served in nearly every area of the college: senior vice president for student services, provost, associate provost, director of special programs, program coordinator, academic advisor, recruiter, senior accounting clerk and adjunct faculty. In 2016, Dr. Williams was awarded the prestigious Aspen Presidential Fellowship for Community College Excellence, making her part of the inaugural class of the Aspen Presidential Fellows. She is a graduate of Leadership Tampa Bay, Leadership St. Pete, the Chancellor’s Leadership Program and the Executive Leadership Program at the University of Florida. Dr. Williams earned a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Barry University, a master’s degree in from 91tvӰԺ, and bachelor’s degrees from Clearwater Christian College. Dr. Williams was appointed by the speaker of the Florida House of Representatives.
