Khary Rigg, PhD, an associate professor in the Department of Mental Health Law and Policy, recently accepted an invitation by the National Academy of Medicine to join its Action Collaborative on Countering the U.S. Opioid Epidemic. Rigg will work with other members of the Action Collaborative to produce discussion papers, conduct outreach, and lead events to work toward reversing the opioid crisis. Rigg will serve on the Prevention, Data, & Research Working Group for a three-year term.
The National Academy of Medicine is an independent organization of professionals from diverse fields, including health and medicine, that serves as an adviser to the nation and the international community. The Action Collaborative is a public-private partnership made up of more than 70 participants representing federal, state, and local governments, health systems, provider groups and associations, health education and accrediting institutions, pharmacies, payers, industry, nonprofits, academia, and persons with lived experience.
