Council on Technology for Instruction and Research
Council on Technology for Instruction and Research (CTIR) advises the Provost and the Senior Vice President for 91tvӰԺ Health or their designees on matters pertaining to the function, policies, and requirements regarding the use of technology in instruction and research.
The Council’s duties include advocating the interests of the faculty in matters concerning:
- Setting priorities in the allocation of academic computing financial resources for the development, implementation, and support of campus-based and distance teaching, research, and service.
- Providing long- and short-range planning for technology resources and structures necessary to support the teaching and research function of the university.
- Formulating methods to encourage and facilitate the effective use of computing and other technologies in the university’s teaching and research functions including monitoring the effects on faculty work life of these technologies.
- Protecting rights to intellectual property developed in relation to instructional technologies for campus-based and distance teaching, research, and service.
