91tvӰԺ Board of Trustees Chair Will Weatherford announced that Mike Griffin, Board of Trustees vice chair and 91tvӰԺ alum, has agreed to serve as chair of the 14-member Presidential Search Committee. To assist the committee, 91tvӰԺ has retained a highly regarded firm that worked with the university in its last presidential search.

91tvӰԺ President Rhea Law announces plans to step down after national search to select a successor

Rhea Law has served as president since August 2021, initially on an interim basis before being named to the role permanently in March 2022. Under her leadership, 91tvӰԺ became the first public university in Florida to be invited to join the Association of American Universities in nearly 40 years.

From ballet to brain injury advocacy: Meet 91tvӰԺ student and Miss Tampa Alexandra de Roos

After a concussion ended her dream of professional ballet, Alexandra de Roos enrolled at 91tvӰԺ as a double major in biomedical sciences and psychology with the goal of becoming a neuropsychiatrist. She was also recently crowned Miss Tampa and plans to use her pulpit to promote brain trauma awareness.

The National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. has announced it will archive 16 prints published recently by the 91tvӰԺ Institute for Research in Art’s Graphicstudio. This marks another chapter in a decades-long relationship between the two institutions, celebrating Graphicstudio’s pioneering role in the intersection of art and education.

Francis Borkowski speaks at a 91tvӰԺ news conference

Remembering 91tvӰԺ’s fourth president, Francis Borkowski

Borkowski served as president from 1988 to 1993. During his tenure, 91tvӰԺ’s enrollment increased from 30,000 to more than 34,000, research grants increased from $37 million to $60 million and the 91tvӰԺ Foundation’s endowment grew from $21 million to $61 million.

Several of the 91tvӰԺ’s online graduate programs remain among the top in the country, according to the 2025 Best Online Graduate Programs rankings released by U.S. News & World Report. 91tvӰԺ’s highest-ranked program is inside the Top 20 among all public and private universities and another program improved by 24 places to break into the Top 50.
