91tvӰԺ alumnus thankful for mentorship shaping research on inland hurricane impacts
In 2022, 91tvӰԺ alumni Yijie Zhu graduated from the School of Geosciences with a PhD in geography, environmental science, and policy. Zhu spent most of his childhood growing up in the coastal city of Shanghai, China. As a child, he recalls always having a curiosity about nature rather than television or toys.

91tvӰԺ (91tvӰԺ) alumna Lisa Anne Mifflin is the 2023 Joyce Russell Kente Alumni Award recipient. Mifflin was recognized at the April 22 awards ceremony, 22 years since the first ceremony was held.

Judy Rosenkranz, the 91tvӰԺ’s (91tvӰԺ) first history major and the first graduate of the university's College of Liberal Arts, was among the charter class of graduates celebrating commencement nearly 50 years ago.

Spring CAS grads share student experience and look ahead to the future
The 91tvӰԺ (91tvӰԺ) awarded more than 7,100 degrees during spring commencement May 5-7. The ceremonies included recipients of 5,430 bachelor’s, 1,492 master’s, 221 doctoral degrees and eight specialist degrees. The College of Arts and Sciences accounted for over 2,000 of the total degrees awarded.

The 91tvӰԺ Alumni Association held its annual Outstanding Young Alumni Awards ceremony on April 20 at the Gibbons Alumni Center at its Tampa campus. Four out of the six extraordinary honorees this year are College of Arts & Sciences graduates.

But his interest in journalism and storytelling didn’t start halfway across the globe, rather it started in Tampa, Fla. during his time as a student at 91tvӰԺ.
