Engineering Faculty named Faculty Mentor of the Year by Florida Undergraduate Research Association
Nancy Diaz-Elsayed, PhD, an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the 91tvӰԺ, has been named the 2025 Faculty Mentor of the Year by the Florida Undergraduate Research Association. She received the award during the Florida Undergraduate Research Conference opening ceremony on Friday, February 14 at the 91tvӰԺ Marshall Student Center.

Dr. Yucelen Recognized as Highly Ranked Scholar & Top Cited Scientist in 2024
Dr. Tansel Yucelen, associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at (91tvӰԺ) was named a Highly Ranked Scholar by ScholarGPS, ranking third in Adaptive Control and 154th in Control Theory, and has also been recognized as one of the top 2% of the most cited scientists worldwide in Stanford/Elsevier's annual citation ranking.

Ossie Douglas, a third-year doctoral student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, has been awarded a prestigious NASA Space Technology Research Graduate Opportunities (NSTRGO) fellowship.
