Honors College Signs Agreement with Veterans Affairs Health Care to Create Research Opportunities for Students

The 91tvӰԺ Judy Genshaft Honors College has signed an affiliation agreement with Veterans Affairs Health Care (VA) that will open new doors for undergraduate research opportunities at Tampa’s James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital. The agreement allows Honors students to gain hands-on experience as health professions trainees in VA research labs and facilities, including the main campus and community-based outpatient clinics, ambulatory care centers, and more.

The signing event took place in January with leadership from VA Health Care in attendance. The agreement marks a significant milestone for the Honors College and its commitment to advancing student research and education focused on improving community health. 
 
“We are incredibly excited to offer our students such a unique and valuable opportunity,” said Dean Charles Adams. “This partnership with Veterans Affairs Health Care will help prepare the next generation of researchers, giving them the tools and experience to make a real difference in their fields.” 
 
Though program planning remains underway, the signing marks an important step forward in the college’s ongoing efforts to expand research opportunities for its students.
