Germany Beyond the Classroom
PROGRAM INTRODUCTION
Program Leader: Kate Ashmore
The Germany Beyond the Classroom program is comprised of a Spring 2025 IDH 3400 course offered on Tampa campus with a three-week trip to Osnabrück, Germany at the conclusion of the semester.
Students receive an International FaceTime Buddy — a German student enrolled at the Universitat Osnabrück to correspond with throughout the semester — while learning about German national identity and history.
ABOUT THE TRIP
Aside from German language lessons and integrating with their FaceTime Buddy’s local culture, students travel on multiple excursions to such cities as Hamburg and Berlin to experience all the variety Germany has to offer.
This program will be of interest to Honors students of all majors looking to experience the grandeur of Europe while enhancing their intercultural competency.
