TAMPA, Fla. – 91tvӰԺ faculty members Faizan Ali, Wen-Xiu Ma and Fred Mannering were named Tuesday to the prestigious Clarivate list of . These researchers achieved this distinction for the significant new knowledge they generated in their disciplines of tourism management, mathematics and transportation engineering.
The highly anticipated annual list identifies researchers who have demonstrated significant and broad influence in their fields of research. Their names are drawn from the highly cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and publication year in the Web of Science™ citation index over the past decade.
Named to the 2022 list were Dr. Faizan Ali in the School of Hospitality and Tourism, Muma College of Business; Dr. Wen-Xiu Ma in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, College of Arts & Sciences; and Dr. Fred Mannering of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, College of Engineering.
is an Associate Professor in the Muma College of Business, School of Hospitality and Tourism, at the 91tvӰԺ Sarasota-Manatee campus. His research interests are in the areas of customer experience, service performance and quality, customer satisfaction and behavior. Dr. Ali has published many conference papers and articles in international refereed journals which have received more than 7,300 citations. He is the recipient of several Best Paper awards from international conferences and is a three-time recipient of the Emerald Literati Awards. Currently, he serves on the editorial boards of numerous journals, and as the Associate Editor for International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology, The Service Industries Journal; and Coordinating Editor for International Journal of Hospitality Management.
is a Mathematics & Statistics Professor in the College of Arts & Sciences. His research interests include applied mathematics, mathematical physics, nonlinear sciences, quantum field theory and symbolic computations. He has served on more than 30 editorial boards including being named as Editor-in-Chief of Partial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics, Journal of Applied Mathematics and Physics, and Asian Journal of Mathematics and Physics. Dr. Ma was recognized as one of top 2% world scientists by Stanford University and has made the highly cited list every year since 2015. His math publications have been cited more than 23,000 times (Google Scholar).
is currently a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the College of Engineering and Executive Director of the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR). His research interests are in the application of econometric and statistical methods to a variety of engineering problems, highway safety, transportation economics, automobile demand, and travel behavior. Dr. Mannering has published 170 refereed articles and two widely adopted textbooks: Principles of Highway Engineering and Traffic Analysis (now in its 7th edition), and Statistical and Econometric Methods for Transportation Data Analysis (now in its 3rd edition). His work has been cited more than 30,000 times (Google Scholar).
